چکیده

Given the current trend towards reducing use of chemical controls in agriculture, microbial resources such as plant endophytes are being intensively investigated for traits that conducive to protection. Among various important target pathogens, Fusarium graminearum is a fungal pathogen cereal crops responsible severe yield losses and mycotoxin contamination grains. In present study, we bacterial endophytic communities from vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty) roots originating 5 different geographic locations across Europe Africa. This study relies on global 16S metabarcoding approach isolation/functional characterization isolates. The results obtained showed geographical location factor influences composition relative abundance root endophyte vetiver. Three hundred eighty-one were isolated assessed their vitro antagonistic activities F. mycelium growth. total, 46 % isolates at least 50 inhibitory activity against graminearum. taxonomic identification bioactive revealed these functional culturable was influenced by origins roots. selected consisted 15 genera. Some Bacillus, Janthinobacterium, Kosakonia, Microbacterium, Pseudomonas, Serratia strong growth inhibition (≥70 %) could be candidates further development biocontrol agents.

Subgingival microbiota of chronic periodontitis subjects from different geographic locations.

BACKGROUND Most clinical studies assume that the subgingival microbiota is similar from one geographic location to another. The purpose of the present investigation was to examine the composition of the subgingival microbiota in chronic periodontitis subjects from four countries. METHOD Subjects with chronic periodontitis (N, Sweden=101; USA=115; Brazil=58; Chile=26) were recruited. Subjects ...

Antagonistic Action of Bacillus subtilis Strain SG6 on Fusarium graminearum

Fusarium graminearum causes Fusarium head blight (FHB), a devastating disease that leads to extensive yield and quality loss of wheat and barley. Bacteria isolated from wheat kernels and plant anthers were screened for antagonistic activity against F. graminearum. Based on its in vitro effectiveness, strain SG6 was selected for characterization and identified as Bacillus subtilis. B. subtilis S...

Functional analysis of the Fusarium graminearum phosphatome.

Phosphatases are known to play important roles in the regulation of various cellular processes in eukaryotes. However, systematic characterization of the phosphatome has not been reported in phytopathogenic fungi. The wheat scab fungus Fusarium graminearum contains 82 putative phosphatases. The biological functions of each phosphatase were investigated in this study. Although 11 phosphatase gen...

Genetic diversity of Fusarium graminearum sensu lato isolates from wheat associated with Fusarium Head Blight in diverse geographic locations of Argentina.

Fusarium Head Blight is an important wheat disease in the Argentine Pampas region, being Fusarium graminearum the predominant pathogen. DNA polymorphism of the isolates was analyzed by IGS-RFLP and ISSR. IGS-RFLP and ISSR profiling were carried out using six endonucleases and eight primers, respectively. IGS-RFLP yielded 41 bands, 30 of which were polymorphic while ISSR produced 87 bands with 4...

Antioxidant Activity, Phenolic and Flavonoid Contents of Echium Species from Different Geographical Locations of Iran

Iranian Echium species (Boraginaceae), popularly known as "Gol-e-Gavzaban" are native plants that some of them have been used widely as food and traditional medicine since long times. In this work organs from different populations of two Iranian Echium species were collected from their natural locations in order to analyze their phenolic content and antioxidant activity. Hydroalcoholic extracts...
